classical music and 50s rock and roll- just one weekend!

firstly ill stick to the classical part!as you may know im a classical violinist and after a wonderful year foraying(not sure that this is a word) into the trad scene im trying to get my classical mojo back!much harder than i thought,i never knew my wrist turned that way and my arm bent like that but apparently it does but not without lots of practice! so this week i have been delving back into my classical library on my computer and pulled some of the most inspirational pieces i could find to get me back into the flow!these would be
1- Vaughn williams either the lark ascending or symphony no5 ( by the way i do apologise, nomrally i would supply links to these but because of my rubbish internet i cant do much more than type tonite so i promise they will be uploaded at some other date)
2- elgar violin sonata- also a piece i am playing and i have to admit although im quite an up beat person angry pieces are the best to play, you get to take out all that rage!
3- aaron coplands piano concerto- at the start this piece reminded me of a tom and jerry cartoon, you gotta listen to understand but now im in love with it!
so hopefully with the help of these guys and the patince not to smash my violin off a nearby hard surface ill get my classical mojo back and rock next year.........hopefully!

the second half of this blog has got to touch on the excellant night had last nite which is the annual event of lietrim festival!i mentioned this in a previous blog but seriously there is nothing better than getting up and dancing ludacrisly in my case to some excellant 50s rock and roll music performed my aged bald men in gold haulographic suits with metal studded wife beaters on!i mean nothing beats it! and despite how silly it sounds out of context it is brill craic and yes this may have had something to do with the tequilla shots which were librarly poured out my N however i dont anything beats doing the chevy shuffle or dancing to "do you love me"!a highly recommened event!:-)
